The Madrid Institute of Advanced Studies in Water Technologies IMDEA Water is an initiative of the Madrid Regional Government to develope research of excellence and provide innovation elements in the water sector.

IMDEA Water is gathering knowledge from experimental, legal and social sciences as well as engineering with the aim of generating relationship and interactions between different reasearch units and topics in order to approach the XXI Century water Management.

Advanced Training of scientists and professionals is also a key issue for IMDEA Water, by organizing and collaborating in PHd, Masters and other training programmes, and therefore contributing to return to the society the effort realized in supporting the Institute.

12/16/2009 - IX SCIENCE WEEK. “Make your own aquifer”

On the occasion of the IX Science Week, IMDEA Foundation’s facilities hosted the workshop “make your own aquifer”, aiming to show the participants how the groundwater flows. Organised by IMDEA and researchers from the Rey Juan Carlos University, sponsored by AIG EUROPE and with the collaboration of Consolider TRAGUA (INGENIO-2010 Program), the event was attended by students in the 3rd year of Compulsory Secondary Education, who were taught about the main factors affecting groundwater, both theoretical and in practice.

 

 

03/07/2009 - IMDEA Water participates in the technology and knowledge transfer regional meeting

The Social Council Conference of the Madrid Regional Government, together with the Researh Results Transference Offices belonging to the 6 Public Universities of Madrid, and Madrid Confederation of employers and Industries (CEIM), organized an open meeting with the aim of analyse and think about technology and knowledge transfer from Universtities and Research Centres to the private companies.
