IMDEA Water at SETAC Europe 2017

Researchers from the Ecotoxicology group of the IMDEA Water Institute attended the annual conference of the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC), which took place between the 7th and 11th of May in Brussels. It was a well populated event with more than 2000 attendants from industry, government and academia.

During this meeting the pre-doctoral researcher, Alba Arenas-Sánchez, gave a talk about her ongoing research project entitled ‘Combined effects of water scarcity and an insecticide on freshwater zooplankton communities: a microcosm study’ and Dr. Andreu Rico gave a talk entitled ‘Unravelling the effects of multiple stressors on the aquatic invertebrate community in the region of Madrid (central Spain)’.

Moreover, Dr. Andreu Rico and Prof Marco Vighi co-chaired two well attended sessions dealing with the effects of multiple stressors and the use of modelling tools to improve the risk assessment of contaminants.
